Large Four-Story Bearing Walls with Precast Planks

Masonicare at Mystic is a 250,000-sf senior living center in Mystic, CT, with approximately 180 units for independent living, assisted living and memory care. The four-story structure consists of precast concrete plank bearing on cold-formed steel bearing walls.
Iron Engineering provided the structural design of the cold-formed steel bearing walls for gravity and lateral loads. Cold-formed steel shear walls were used throughout the project.
