Anthony D. Coviello, M.S., P.E., S.E.
Mr. Coviello’s background is in structural engineering. He holds a B.S. (’97) and an M.S. (’00) in Civil Engineering from the University of New Hampshire. He opened his first structural engineering firm in 2007, providing general structural engineering consulting services. In 2015, Tony left to form Iron Engineering, a structural engineering firm specializing in cold-formed steel design.
Tony has provided structural design and analysis for a variety of institutional, commercial, industrial and residential projects. He has over a decade of specialized expertise in the design of cold-formed steel structures and building envelopes.
In 2009, he was awarded the NH Young Engineer of the Year award. At that time he served as the President of the Structural Engineers of New Hampshire, advocating for structural engineering related issues in New Hampshire and promoting the growth of the industry.
For over a decade, he has worked with the National Council of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors (NCEES) as an exam development volunteer.
In 2009 and again in 2011, Mr. Coviello was elected to the Portsmouth City Council. During his time on the council he advocated for sustainable budgeting, transparent government, good schools and infrastructure improvements.
In 2011, Tony was recognized by the NH Union Leader and the Business Industry Association of NH as one of the “Forty Under 40” leaders making a difference in the state.
Mr. Coviello serves on the University of New Hampshire Civil Engineering Advisory Board and has been Chair of the UNH Civil Engineering Alumni Conference.
In his free time, Tony enjoys mountaineering, running and skiing with his wife and two children.
